The real problem

Most “MTD software” wants you to change how you work.

You do not need another place to re-type every invoice. You need a reliable way to take the numbers you already have and put them into a path HMRC will accept.

Your books live in a workbook

That is normal. Forcing a full cloud ledger rebuild is the expensive, slow option for many sole traders and landlords.

MTD deadlines are real

From April 2026 more people must keep digital records and send quarterly updates. Waiting until the week before is how stress happens.

You want control, not magic buttons

You want to see what will be filed, keep proof, and practice before live submissions matter.

What QuarterLink is

A simple bridge. Not a new accounting life.

Upload supported spreadsheets, map cumulative totals, review carefully, keep evidence, and connect to HMRC when you are ready. We do not sell bank feeds, payroll, inventory, or “replace your whole practice”.

1
Sign in or request access

Existing customers sign in. New public accounts stay closed until the sandbox programme allows open registration.

2
Bring your file

Upload supported Excel or CSV and map the totals you already keep.

3
Check it

Review figures and warnings before any live path.

4
File when ready

Connect HMRC and submit only when access and authority allow.

Why people buy

What you actually get out of it

01

Stay in Excel

Keep the system you already understand. No forced migration day.

02

See it before you send it

Review totals first. No mystery submit on day one.

03

Evidence you can show

Proof for you, your adviser, or a client file later.

04

Safe practice controls

Trial Mode cannot live-file to HMRC. Live work needs authority and access.

05

Clear UK pricing

Individuals from £6/month. Seats for firms when professional access opens.

06

Honest limits

We do not claim production API recognition before HMRC grants it.

Before you buy

Straight answers

Good sales pages remove doubt. Here are the ones that come up most.

Will I have to leave Excel?+

No. QuarterLink is built so you can keep spreadsheet-led records and map totals into a supported MTD path.

Has production API recognition been granted?+

No. QuarterLink connects to HMRC’s MTD APIs in sandbox and is completing the deployed-product review required before production API access. That is not tax advice and does not decide if you are in scope.

Can I create an account today?+

New public registrations are paused during the current HMRC sandbox programme. Existing customers can sign in. Use the contact form to request access updates. When registration reopens, Individual includes a 14-day no-card trial option that cannot make real HMRC submissions.

Does it calculate my tax bill?+

No. We help with the digital records and filing workflow. Your tax position stays with you or your adviser.

What about bookkeepers and accountants?+

Seat plans are designed for client work, but professional and practice public onboarding remains closed during the sandbox programme unless deliberately reopened.

FAQ

More quick answers

What is QuarterLink?+

QuarterLink is spreadsheet bridging software that connects to HMRC Making Tax Digital for Income Tax APIs. It is built for people and practices who want to keep spreadsheet-led digital records, map figures, keep filing receipts, and submit supported updates through HMRC-connected workflows.

Can I keep using spreadsheets?+

Yes. QuarterLink is designed for spreadsheet-led records. You can upload supported Excel or CSV files, map figures, review totals, and keep evidence without moving your whole bookkeeping process into a new ledger product.

Who needs Making Tax Digital for Income Tax?+

HMRC phases Making Tax Digital for Income Tax by qualifying income. Current GOV.UK thresholds include over £50,000 from 6 April 2026, over £30,000 from 6 April 2027, and over £20,000 from 6 April 2028. QuarterLink helps with the software workflow; HMRC remains the source of truth for whether a taxpayer must join.

What is QuarterLink’s current HMRC status?+

QuarterLink integrates with HMRC’s Making Tax Digital APIs and is completing the deployed product review needed before HMRC will consider production API access. Sandbox verification does not mean production approval has already been granted.

Does QuarterLink give tax advice?+

No. QuarterLink is software. It does not calculate your tax position, replace a qualified adviser, or decide whether you are mandated. Always check GOV.UK, HMRC records, or your adviser for your own tax position.

What is the free trial?+

When public registration is open, the Individual plan includes a 14-day free trial option with no card required. Trial Mode lets you explore setup and readiness workflows, but cannot make real HMRC submissions. New public registrations are currently paused during the HMRC sandbox programme — existing customers can sign in, and others can request access updates via the contact form. Active access, HMRC authority, and account security controls are required before live filing.

How much does QuarterLink cost?+

Public plans currently start at £6/month or £60/year for individuals. Bookkeeper and Accountant plans are £19/month / £190/year. Accountancy Practice is £29/month / £290/year. Annual billing includes two months free versus monthly.

Which income sources does QuarterLink support?+

QuarterLink’s primary product covers self-employment, UK property and foreign property from quarterly updates through the supported year-end return. Accountant, bookkeeper and practice filing areas are secondary.

Registrations are paused — product work continues

QuarterLink is completing its HMRC sandbox programme for direct-taxpayer in-year quarterly bridging. New public accounts are not being created while that work is evidenced.
